Installing MetzBOX takes one click.
No file to drag, no third-party tool. MetzBOX Studio installs the panel straight into your After Effects — and it is what confirms your licence, so it needs to stay open.

- Run the installer
Windows will show "Unknown publisher" the first time. That is expected — there is no code-signing certificate yet, which is expensive for a product this young. Click More info, then Run anyway.
- Sign in with your purchase email
A 6-digit code arrives. No password to invent or remember.
- Click Install on MetzBOX
It drops the panel into the right After Effects folder on its own.
- Open After Effects
The panel shows up under Window > Extensions > MetzBOX. If After Effects was already open, close and reopen it.
Leave Studio runningIt lives in the tray, next to the clock, and it is what confirms your licence — no internet, no waiting. With it closed, the panel locks. Closing the window with X only hides it; it keeps running.
On Mac, the first launch is differentThe file is a .dmg: double-click it, drag MetzBOX into Applications, and eject the disk.
macOS will say the app "cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer" — and the only button will be Cancel. This happens with every app without an Apple certificate, which costs US$ 99 a year and does not make sense yet for a product this size.
To open it: right-click MetzBOX inside your Applications folder and choose Open. The real Open button appears then. Only the first time — after that it opens normally.
Got "is damaged and can't be opened"?That is a different warning, and right-click does not fix it. It shows up when macOS flags the file as coming from the internet and the app has no certificate. The app is not damaged — macOS just cannot verify who made it.
The fix takes 10 seconds. Open Terminal (Applications → Utilities) and paste:
xattr -cr /Applications/MetzBOX.appPress Enter and open the app normally. This only removes the quarantine flag — it changes nothing inside the application. If you would rather not use Terminal, write to me and I will sort it out with you.
If something does not go as expected
- The panel does not show up in After Effects
- Close After Effects completely and open it again — it only reads extensions at startup. Still nothing? Check
Window > Extensions. - The panel opens asking me to open Studio
- That is the licence lock. Open Studio and the screen goes away on its own within seconds — no need to reopen After Effects.
- I changed computers
- Your licence covers 1 computer at a time. Free the old slot at metzbox.shop/minha-licenca — two clicks, and it uninstalls nothing.
- My antivirus complained
- Happens with apps that have no code-signing certificate. Allow the installer and MetzBOX.exe in your exceptions list.
- I had an older version, with a .zxp file
- You can uninstall it through ZXP Installer if you still have it. Studio installs over it without conflict either way.

O Windows vai mostrar "Editor desconhecido" na primeira vez. É esperado — ainda não há certificado de assinatura, que custa caro pra um produto que acabou de nascer. Clique em Mais informações e depois em Executar assim mesmo.
- Entre com o e-mail da compra
Chega um código de 6 dígitos. Sem senha pra inventar nem lembrar.
- Clique em Instalar no MetzBOX
Ele põe o painel na pasta certa do After Effects sozinho.
- Abra o After Effects
O painel aparece em Window > Extensions > MetzBOX. Se o After já estava aberto, feche e abra de novo.
Deixe o Studio abertoEle vive na bandeja, ao lado do relógio, e é quem confirma sua licença — sem internet e sem esperar. Com ele fechado, o painel bloqueia. Fechar a janela no X só esconde; ele continua funcionando.
No Mac, a primeira abertura é diferenteO arquivo é um .dmg: dê dois cliques, arraste o MetzBOX pra pasta Aplicativos, e ejete o disco.
O macOS vai dizer que o app "não pode ser aberto porque veio de um desenvolvedor não identificado" — e o único botão será Cancelar. Isso acontece com todo app sem certificado da Apple, que custa US$ 99 por ano e ainda não faz sentido pra um produto deste tamanho.
Pra abrir: clique com o botão direito no MetzBOX dentro da pasta Aplicativos e escolha Abrir. Aí aparece o botão Abrir de verdade. Só na primeira vez — depois abre normal.
Apareceu "está danificado e não pode ser aberto"?Esse é outro aviso, e o botão direito não resolve. Ele aparece quando o macOS marca o arquivo como vindo da internet e o app não tem certificado. O app não está danificado — o macOS só não consegue verificar quem fez.
A saída leva 10 segundos. Abra o Terminal (Aplicativos → Utilitários) e cole:
xattr -cr /Applications/MetzBOX.appAperte Enter e abra o app normalmente. Isso só remove a marca de quarentena — não muda nada dentro do aplicativo. Se preferir não usar o Terminal, me escreva e eu resolvo com você.
Se algo não sair como esperado
- O painel não aparece no After
- Feche o After Effects por completo e abra de novo — ele lê as extensões só no arranque. Se continuar, confira em
Window > Extensions. - O painel abre pedindo pra abrir o Studio
- É a trava de licença. Abra o Studio e a tela some sozinha em segundos, sem precisar reabrir o After.
- Troquei de computador
- Sua licença vale 1 computador por vez. Libere a vaga antiga em metzbox.shop/minha-licenca — leva dois cliques e não desinstala nada.
- O antivírus reclamou
- Acontece com aplicativo sem certificado de assinatura. Libere o instalador e o MetzBOX.exe na lista de exceções.
- Já tinha uma versão antiga, com arquivo .zxp
- Pode desinstalar pelo ZXP Installer, se ainda tiver. O Studio instala por cima sem conflito de qualquer jeito.
